My honeymoon Experience in Munnar with Great Indian Holidays

Back to home !! Is it over ?. I can’t imagine it is over. Is our honeymoon over ?. No, never, it is going to be for our entire life. We spend our honeymoon in Kerala. The land of God’s own country. Now we are heading back to home where our families and friends are waiting for us.

how to reach munnar
How to reach munnar
we are from Bangalore working in a multinational IT company. After a year long romancing, we decided to tie the knot. We decided not to travel long hours to reach our honeymoon destination. So our idea is to choose a destination close to us and it should be ideal for honeymoon also. We did some research on the internet about this. Also discussed with our friends. We decided to go to Kerala. the God’s own country and most popular honeymoon destination in India. Munnar the mostpopulare hillstation with green tea plantation and zigzag lanes. Munnar is awarded as the “ best destination for romance” at the Lonely Planet Magazine Indian Travel Awards 2017.
The advantage of Kerala is that we can have verity of ambiance. Like chilling hill station like Munnar, backwaters and houseboat, and the beach. No other place can give such verity of destinations very close and with in couple of hours of journey. Even though we prefer to stick on one destination rather than going to three or more location to avoid hectic travel. So we planned our Kerala honeymoon package in such a way that we enjoy our entire Kerala package in the misty mountains of Munnar.

We reached cochin international airport morning 10 am. It was an hour journey from Bangalore airport. Kerala Tour operator, we booked with, is waiting for us in the airport. We get in to their vehicle and the driver was very polite. He picked our luggage’s and loaded in the car. The car was small but clean and neat. We choose swift desire for our entire journey to reduce the cost. We are travelling towards Munnar the beautiful and serene hill station in Kerala. We enjoy the travel through the windy lanes by enjoying the fog and fresh air. By breathing the fresh non polluted air itself will rejuvenate ourselves. May be the reason to include Munnar tour package in their kerala holiday packages

How to Reach Munnar

We checked in to the resort in munnar  by noon and it was 10 km away from the Munnar city and almost like a forest. We can see big trees and lush greenery . Our cottage was very beautiful and a balcony and view towards the forest. We can see the tea gardens, fog coming down from the sky towards our balcony. The cottage is meant for honeymoon couples and is really romantic. Campfire were arranged at night and we had a nice time.

Next day morning the breakfast was nice with kerala traditional dishes. After the breakfast our car and driver was ready for the local sightseeing in Munnar. We planned well in advance with our kerala tour operator. what all the places to visit in kerala to avoid wasting unnecessary time in traffic and car. We started at 10 am from the resort. We moved towards the mattupetty dam. On the road we enjoyed the tranquility, green landscape, and rich flora and fauna. At Mattupetty we enjoyed the boating. The boating in mattupetty dam was very adventurous. Later we moved to kundala dam for a shikara boat service. We came back to the resort. There arranged a candle light dinner with a cake. As our request, the dinner was kerala style with more sea food items included and it was tasty but little spicy. (if you don’t like spicy food you should inform them in advance) . The bed was arranged with floral decoration. It was nice and sweet.
Next day morning we woke up little early and decided to go for a nature walk through the tea gardens. One guide was accompanying us. He explained us how to pluck the tea leaves and the process of tea making. It was little scary when we saw snakes one the way. The nature walk was rejuvenating and thrilling. After a 5 km walk came back to resort to fresh up and breakfast. We started the local sight seeing. Today we planned to visit the Eravikulam national park. Eravikulam national park is a wild life sanctuary and many endangered species are here. Nigiri Tahr is one of that type. We had seen many of Nilgiri Tahrs. While returning we drop down in Munnar city for shopping. Munnar is famous for its Tea. Kannan Devan is the main tea company here. We can choose tea powder based on the location it grows. The taste of the tea varies depends on the location. Tea from Kolukkumalai and Lakshmi estate have different taste. We purchased some tea powders and even we can buy tea powder with different flavours. We thought of buying some spices also to distribute as gift packets to our friends and families.
Around 8 pm we returned back to resort. The dinner arranged was continental style. Spices used where hand picked from the local market. Next day morning we returned back to cochin international air port.
We had a nice time in the hill station of Kerala Munnar. The honeymoon trip was very memorable and we never forget this trip.

Our conclusion
• Choosing Munnar as a honeymoon destination is a right idea.
• Stay in a resort deep inside the tea garden or forest with view of tee garden is also a wonderful idea.

• But ensure you have a BSNL sim card with you. Other wise no other service providers may not have range in many of the places.
• Your relatives and friends may trying to reach you and even you need to contact somebody, you may be lost.
• Better ask your travel agent to arrange a bsnl sim card for you for the short trip.
• Don’t eat any thing from roadside. Other wise ensure it is good quality and hygiene
